The Careers team have been working with Year 12s completing their Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) applications and Year 11s completing their Year 12 subject selections, Year 10s completing their individual Morrisby Career Planning interviews and their VCE subject interviews, Year 9s having a subject selection assembly and interviews, Year 8s having individual interviews to choose electives and Year 7s and 8s undertaking their first taste of an embedded careers education program. In addition, we have had the Subject and Careers Expo evening, the Year 12 VTAC and Exam information evening, seven Year 10 students applying for the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars program at The University of Melbourne and many students seeking individual careers appointments – it has been very busy, but it has also been extremely rewarding to guide our students as they plan their future studies and career.

Parents, carers and students are reminded that our Careers website is located at https://careers.thomascarr.vic.edu.au/ or accessible from the main page via the Learning and Teaching/Careers and Pathways tabs. The website includes our newsletter published every three weeks, a message board with careers and further education events, career targets based around favourite subjects, VTAC videos and an appointment booking button for students to make an individual appointment with us. There are also many resources for senior students and parents and carers, including resources explaining Vocational Education and Training (VET), how to help your child plan a career, post-school options and much more. The website is updated weekly and it’s worth visiting regularly for updates.
