When parents choose a Catholic education for their child, they form a partnership with the Catholic school. Together, through the formal years of schooling, this partnership provides a profound, faith-based platform for the child’s lifelong learning, formation and flourishing.
There have been many opportunities throughout this term where teachers, students and parents have worked in partnership to support the learning and overall wellbeing needs of our students. The recent Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences are an example of this. The many conversations across these two nights provided an opportunity for teachers to work with parents in setting high expectations for next term and to also establish the strategies that will assist students to grow and flourish as learners throughout the year.
As we end the Lenten Term, these opportunities are further evidence of the strength of who we are as a faith learning community. I would like to thank all members of our community for their continued support throughout this term, and I look forward to building upon these partnerships as we create a narrative that inspires learning and that is supportive of the wellbeing needs of all our students.
Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences
The initial feedback from staff and parents has been positive and we would like to thank all the parents who took the time to meet with their child’s subject teachers. I hope this was invaluable and provided parents and carers with an understanding of how your son or daughter is progressing with their learning.
Due to the nature of these online interviews, we acknowledge that not all parents may have had the opportunity to book an interview with all their child’s teachers. This also extends to cases where subject teachers were unavailable on these set dates. If, for any reason, you were unable to book an interview during these set times, please contact your child’s teacher to make alternative arrangements and to schedule a follow-up conversation at a mutually suitable time.
For any other questions related to your child’s overall progress, please contact your child’s Pastoral and Learning Mentor (PaLM), Year Level Leader (Years 7 to 9) or House Leader (Years 10 to 12).
On behalf of the College, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate your child on their achievements this term. We would also like to thank you for the important role you play in supporting your child to shine in all that they do at Thomas Carr College.
Student Study Day (Wednesday 26 April)
A reminder that Wednesday 26 April has been listed on the College calendar as a ‘Student Study Day’. Students are not required to attend the College and are encouraged to use this day for study and other self-directed learning activities. Learning activities may include pre-reading or any other subject-specific tasks such as completing holiday homework and general planning for the start of term.

As we head into Easter over these holidays, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all members of our community a safe and Happy Easter.
