From the Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching

31 October 2024

As we approach the end of another academic year, it is with a sense of pride and anticipation that we prepare for the Year 12 final exams. This crucial period marks not only the culmination of years of hard work and dedication but also the beginning of new opportunities for our students.

Exam Schedule and Preparation

The Year 12 final exams commence on 29 October and conclude on 20 November. Students have been busy preparing and revising, and I encourage everyone to continue to focus on their studies while also taking care of their wellbeing. A balanced approach to revision—integrating study time with breaks, exercise, and relaxation—is essential for optimal performance.

Support Systems in Place

To assist our Year 12 students, we have put several support systems in place:

  1. Study Groups: We encourage students to form study groups, fostering collaboration and shared learning.
  2. Tutoring Sessions: Our teachers are available for additional tutoring sessions to clarify concepts and provide guidance.
  3. Wellness Initiatives: We encourage families to support their child with mindfulness and stress management as they strive to cope with exam pressures.

Parent and Caregiver Support

We recognise that parents and caregivers play a pivotal role in our students’ success. We encourage you to engage with your child about their study plans and maintain open lines of communication. Your support and encouragement can make a significant difference during this time.

Looking Ahead

As our Year 12 students prepare to embark on their next journey, whether it be further studies, vocational training, or entering the workforce, we are here to guide them. The final exams are not just a measure of academic achievement; they are an opportunity for personal growth and resilience.

We wish all our Year 12 students the best of luck as they approach this pivotal moment in their educational journey. Remember, each challenge is an opportunity to shine. We believe in your abilities and are excited to see all that you will achieve.

As we support our Year 12 students during this important time, let’s remember the wise words of Dr. Seuss: “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”

Wishing everyone the very best for the exams ahead.
