Jesus said to His disciples, “Your light must shine in the sight of people so that seeing your good works they may give praise to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
At this time of year, I find it important to pause and reflect on the meaning of Christmas. To frame these reflections, I refer to the significance of light at Christmas time. In summary, the symbolism of the candles of the Advent wreath and light during this time of year is to remind us that God brings love, hope, joy and peace into the world. As members of a Faith community, we are also reminded that through our hope and service to others we are called to shine our light into the world.
With this in mind and drawing inspiration from our College motto ‘They Will Shine’, I wish all members of our community a safe and Merry Christmas. May we all continue to shine our light into the world and may the New Year be filled with hope, joy, love and peace.
New Staff Induction Day
On Monday 9 December and as part of our End of Year Professional Learning (EOYPL) program, new staff commencing at the College in 2025 attended our New Staff Induction Day.
This was a wonderful opportunity for all our new staff to meet each other as well as to begin working with our current staff in planning for 2025. The day also involved our new staff deepening their understanding of our College and how we approach all areas of Faith, Learning and Wellbeing at Thomas Carr College.
Our new staff brought with them a strong sense of enthusiasm and energy as they look forward to starting at the College in the New Year. Their energy and the support provided to them by our current staff contributed to a very positive day for all involved.
I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the various aspects of the New Staff Induction Day and wish all our new staff the very best in 2025 as they join our dynamic learning community.
Further new staff announcements will be shared at the start of next year.
