Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice.

Saturday 11 November was Remembrance Day, and each year on the eleventh day of the eleventh month we take time to remember the service and sacrifice of those who have died since World War I. The above values of Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice are the core pillars that represent the Spirit of Kokoda and capture the qualities of the Australian troops who battled the Japanese along the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea in 1942. 

The Spirit of Kokoda demonstrates that when we work together, look out for each other, and show commitment to a task, things that at first seem impossible, suddenly become achievable. 

As students prepare for the end of the school year and look forward to commencing their new classes during Headstart, these lessons and the Spirit of Kokoda can continue to give us all the inspiration and strength to approach life with a mindset of knowing that all that remains in front of us is achievable.

Headstart Program

Our Headstart program is an opportunity for teachers to begin to know their new students as learners. This extends to students also reflecting on the year and setting goals for their new subjects whilst building a strong foundation for the upcoming academic year.

The Headstart program will commence on Monday 20 November and conclude on the final day of the Advent Term, Tuesday 5 December.

On Monday 20 November and Tuesday 21 November, all Year 7 to 11 classes will continue based on the current Semester Two timetable and will include Examination feedback sessions for all students.

As of Wednesday 22 November, all year levels will commence their 2024 classes rolling over to their Semester One timetable. Further details outlining the key dates and activities for each year level is available to view in the Daily Messages section on SIMON.

If you have any questions related to the various details of the Headstart program, please contact your child’s Pastoral and Learning Mentor (PaLM) or Year Level Leader (Years 7 to 9) / House Leader (Years 10 to 12).

We look forward to the commencement of our Headstart program and wish your child all the best for the final weeks of the term.

Headstart Timetables

Students have received a copy of their Headstart timetable. This is based on their Semester One timetable for 2024 and will be updated on SIMON.

All students are to check their timetable on SIMON and are reminded that they will be in their 2024 classes as of Wednesday 22 November.

If students have any questions related to their Headstart timetable, they are asked to please contact their Pastoral and Learning Mentor (PaLM).

2024 Semester One Timetables – Change of Subjects (Year 11 and 12 students only)

Students beginning Years 11 and 12 in 2024, who are interested in changing subjects are to complete a subject change form by no later than Friday 1 December.

Further information including how to download a Change of Subject form is available for students to access in the Daily Messages section on SIMON.

Semester Two Reports

Semester Two Reports will be available for parents to access via PAM on Friday 8 December. Parents will receive a SMS and a notification via Operoo with the details on how to access your child’s report.
