Year 10 Premier League

Our Year 10 Premier League Season has wrapped up and what a season it was. We had five of our eight teams make their respective Grand Finals, the equal most of any school in our Association after some strong home and away performances.

We are very excited to share with our College community that all of our teams played exceptionally well, with three of our teams coming out on top to claim the ultimate glory of being named Year 10 Premier League Champions.

Congratulations to the following teams:

  • Boys Basketball A Team 50 defeated CRC North Keilor
  • Boys Volleyball Team 3 defeated Kolbe 1
  • Girls Volleyball Team 3 defeated Kolbe 1

The following teams were gallant in defeat:

  • Girls Netball Team 12 loss CRC North Keilor 37
  • Boys Basketball B Team loss v Antonine 43

Senior Boys Volleyball

Our Senior Boys Volleyball team played off in the Grand Final on Tuesday 9 May against Salesian after going undefeated for the season. We are ecstatic to let our College community know that the boys won in commanding fashion 3-1 in the decider, being crowned SACCSS Champions for 2023.

Congratulations this team who trained exceptionally hard in the lead up to and during their season. Rayan Latu of Year 11 was named Peer Player of the Match, as well as Player of the Match which was awarded by the officiating umpires. Outstanding work Rayan, well done on your awards.

Well done to all who represented TCC over the course of Term 1 in the Year 10 Premier League Season and Senior Volleyball Season. All of our teams played with much grit, determination and great sportspersonship. Thank you also to our wonderful coaches for all of the work they do to get our athletes primed for their seasons. You really are a credit to our College.

Our Year 7 teams have started off very strongly in their first few weeks of SACCSS Sport and we look forward to seeing how they progress in the run to the finals. A reminder you can keep up to date with all results and upcoming games by visiting the SACCSS website: https://saccss.com.au/

SACCSS Cross Country

On Tuesday 2 May, 60 of our students took part in the SACCSS Cross Country Carnival which was held at Brimbank Park in Keilor.

We had many outstanding individual results, with the following students placing in the Top 10 of our Division 1 competition:

In terms of Pennant Aggregates, we placed the following:

13-14 Year Olds- 5th

15-16 Year Olds- 6th

17-20 Year Olds 4th

Our Senior Boys 17-20 Year Olds came 2nd overall which was a fantastic achievement by the boys.

A huge thank you to all students who represented TCC on the day voluntarily. They left nothing out on the course and for that we could not be prouder. Special mentions to our Captains, Anthony Gattellaro and Caitlin Dennis who have run in every Cross Country Carnival since Year 7. Our attention now turns to the SACCSS Division 1 Athletics Carnival which will be held on Tuesday 12 September.

VSAC Swimming Competition

On Monday 8 May, the College was represented by Chloe Hume (Year 7), Holly Hume (Year 8) and Madi Baker (Year 8) in the VSAC Swimming Competition which was held at MSAC. For this competition, the best of our SACCSS member schools came together to compete against other sporting associations which is an exciting initiative.

We are pleased to share with you all that all girls posted some great times which is a credit to their hard work and determination in and out of the pool.

Well done girls and thank you for representing TCC and SACCSS with such pride.

Concussion

Should your child play a sport outside school and receives a concussion it is important to notify Ms White and the College Nurse prior to your child’s next scheduled SACCSS game or training if involved. Any child with concussion will be asked to get a medical certificate to certify they have clearance to resume training and playing SACCSS. This is an important step to ensure your child is safe to participate as their health is our number one priority.
