Volleyball Victoria Open Championship Tournament
We are pleased to announce that our Senior Boys Volleyball Team triumphed over Altona College in the battle for Bronze in Volleyball Victoria’s Open Championships, Division 2 Competition.
This competition sees the best schools and clubs in Victoria competing against each other. This is a fantastic achievement for our boys, not to mention a testament to our volleyball program here at Thomas Carr College.
We are very proud of them, and thank them for being such amazing role models for our College community.
Many of these students finished their VCE exams the week before the tournament and were keen to return to represent us one last time. Well done boys! We look forward to seeing our current Year 10 and 11 students try to emulate the feats of this team in 2025. A special thank you to our coaches Andy and Alvin for the passion and coaching expertise they bring time and time again.
SACCSS Year 8 Premier League Wrap Up
Our Year 8’s finished their Premier League season last week, with our Girls Basketball Team and Boys Soccer team playing off in their respective Grand Finals.
Our Year 8 Girl Basketball Team faced off against a formidable Kolbe College who had been the team to beat all season. Our girls started nervously in the opening minutes, however, soon fell into a groove, taking control of the rebounds and quick ball movement up the court. Kolbe did mount a spirited comeback in the third quarter, but were no match for our girls who eventually ran away 38-27 points. Congratulations girls on a super season. Thank you to Noah, our coach for guiding the girls through to the big dance.
Our Year 8 Boys Soccer team had the unenviable task of playing off against one of the strongest soccer schools in our competition, St Monica’s College. Our boys had their chances, however, we unable to convert under immense pressure from them, eventually going down 6-2 in the final. Our boys should be extremely proud of themselves for the competitive spirit displayed all season. We would like to thank Mr Azzopardi for his endless stewardship of this team.
That is a wrap for SACCSS Sport in 2024. Our TCC Titans have been a dominant force this year, competing in several semi-finals and grand finals, not to mention winning the following SACCSS titles:
- Junior Girls Swimming Division 1 title
- Year 10 Girls Basketball champions
- Senior Boys Volleyball Champions
- Senior Boys Futsal Champions
- Year 9 Boys Basketball Champions
- Year 9 Boys Volleyball Champions
- Year 8 Girls Basketball Champions
- Inter Chess Champions
I would like to thank all the staff involved in this program in 2024, whether they be coaches or accompanied our teams to venues. Your support has been amazing, and our students have loved you being part of their journey and success.
I wish Mr Mallia every success, as the new Sport Leader.
